Year 2 and 3 Students Visit Brown’s Cheese Farm: A Cheesy Learning Adventure!

Our Year 2 and 3 students had an exciting day out at Brown’s Cheese Farm, where they learned firsthand how cheese is made and even got the chance to try their hand at creating their own pizzas! The day was full of fun, learning, and delicious treats, making it a memorable experience for all.

Learning the Art of Cheese Making

The visit began with an educational tour of Brown’s Cheese Farm, where the students discovered the fascinating process of cheese making. From seeing how milk is collected to watching it curdle and turn into cheese, the students were captivated by the science and care behind each step. They learned about different types of cheese and how the farm ensures quality at every stage, from production to packaging.

It was not just about watching, though—students had the opportunity to ask questions and get involved in the hands-on demonstration. They now know that there’s a lot more to cheese than just finding it in the supermarket!

Pizza Making: From Dough to Delicious

After the cheese tour, the students rolled up their sleeves and got to work making their own pizzas! Each student was provided with fresh dough and a variety of toppings, including the farm’s own cheese. With a little guidance, they shaped their dough, added toppings, and watched as their creations baked to perfection.

For many of the students, this was their first time making pizza from scratch, and the excitement of enjoying something they had made themselves was a highlight of the day.

A Sweet Ending

The visit wrapped up with a treat that had everyone smiling—ice cream! The students were thrilled to cool off with a scoop (or two) of Brown’s delicious homemade ice cream. It was the perfect way to end a day full of learning and hands-on fun.

A Day to Remember

The trip to Brown’s Cheese Farm was more than just an educational outing—it was an experience that connected our students to the food they eat and the processes behind it. They left with full stomachs, a new appreciation for cheese, and memories they’ll cherish for a long time.

We’re so proud of how engaged and curious our Year 2 and 3 students were during the tour, and we can’t wait for the next adventure!
