APRIL 15TH &16TH, 2025 - report by Ms Sheila Nyariki

Teachers from Millennium Global International had the privilege of being part of being part of a group of enthusiastic educators looking to further their prowess in delivering effective lessons. In a serene environment with friendly faces, we were warmly welcomed and directed to the perfect setting for two days of immense learning.

DAY 1

POWER MATHS

Our facilitator’s favourite subject! Mr Mark James Whittaker took us on a journey of how to change the learning experience of our learners. He made teaching look very fun, I know if he was my maths teacher I would excel. The room was full of enthusiastic educators who raised pertinent question resulting in very meaningful discussions.

The facilitator was very impressed with the collaboration of Kenyan teachers something he had not experienced in his previous training sessions. These sessions were very lively and very captivating as we got to explore and learn from one another.

DAY 2

BUG CLUB

Cars! Cars! Cars!

If you were a four-year-old who loves cars, would that not capture you attention? That is what bug club was all about. Getting our learners interested in reading by providing books that align with their interest.

The best part of the demonstration was getting to raise the squirrel from the coins we collected by reading our book. I’m certain our learners will love this.

PIPS

Our last session was all about sharing what makes our science lessons good. The round table discussions were very enlightening, discovering different strategies used by other educators. Our mock lesson was able to incorporate all these great ideas in delivery of a successful lesson.

We all left this venue feeling challenged and armed with knowledge to delivery better lessons in English, Maths  and Science.
