Our KG1, KG2, and Year 1 students recently had a fantastic outing to Chicken Inn at Westgate, where they donned aprons and got a behind-the-scenes experience of making chicken and chips!
The visit was not just about food but also about hands-on learning. The students eagerly listened as the restaurant staff explained the steps involved in preparing their favorite meals. From seasoning the chicken to safely frying the chips, each step was demonstrated with precision and care.
The highlight of the visit was when the students had the chance to roll up their sleeves and try their hand at making their own chicken and chips. Their excitement was palpable as they learned the importance of hygiene, teamwork, and patience in the kitchen.
To top off the experience, the little chefs got to enjoy the fruits of their labor with a delicious meal they had helped prepare. The outing was both educational and enjoyable, sparking an appreciation for food preparation and a newfound curiosity about cooking.
